A comprehensive guide to resources for research in the biological sciences.

Science Journals

Paper copies of American Scientist, New Scientist, Science, and Scientific American are available for browsing in Campbell Library's 2nd floor Current Periodicals Room.

Back issues of print periodicals are kept in the 1st floor Bound Periodicals area, or in some cases on microfiche on the 2nd floor.

To find out if the library subscribes to a particular journal or magazine, use the Library Catalog and select the Journal search. Both paper and electronic subscriptions are included in our catalog.

Welcome to the Biological Sciences Research Guide!

To learn more about searching the biological journal literature using library journal collections, use the Find Articles tab.

To learn more about looking for books and journals in a specific area of Biology, use the tab for the subject area you are interested in (Botany, etc.).

For suggestions of general reference books and useful free websites in Biology, use the General Reference and Find Web Sources tabs.

If you are in a hurry to find sources right away, I recommend starting your search with ProfSearch, the Rowan University Libraries search engine on the library homepage.

If you are looking for a specific book, e-book, or multimedia item, search using our Catalog.

Happy searching!
