Most of the biographical information you find in the databases will be short, basic information or some primary sources from newspapers. Books are necessary for more in-depth information on the subject. Depending on the direction of your research, autobiographies can be used as primary sources.
All Books at Rowan
To find books use Rowan's Library Search and limit the material type to Books. You can do this either from the Advanced Search page (use the Material Type drop-down menu on the right) or from a search results page (use the Resource Type limiter).
Autobiographies
Search for an autobiography in Library Search by typing in the subject's name into a search box and limiting the search to "Author/Creator" (available in the the "Any field" drop-down box).
Biographies
To find biographies use the Library Search "Advanced Search." In the first search box, type in the subject's name. In the next search box type biography OR memoir. The drop down menu between the search boxes should remain on "AND."
Can't find a book in Library Search? You can get the book on loan from another library through E-ZBorrow (12-week loan) or Interlibrary Loan.
