Information on Campbell Library's Tiny Library service, including why and how to request a Tiny Library for a campus event (including for student organizations!)

What Is a Tiny Library?

A Tiny Library is a pop-up library browsing event where library representatives have a curated selection of 20-30 books available for checkout or browsing.  Rowan community members are welcome to ask library questions and get help with library services if needed.

Why Would I Want a Tiny Library at My Event?

  • People love it!
    We've had lots of positive feedback and engagement at our previous Tiny Libraries! There's something exciting about a table full of books – especially during Campbell Library renovations!

  • Increase engagement
    At an open house or other major campus event, Tiny Libraries allow attendees to explore a selection of library resources and the opportunity to interact with library staff.

  • Extend learning and fun
    It's a great way to provide further reading on a topic, or to find a book for entertainment or relaxation!

  • Showcase Rowan resources
    It's hard for Rowan students to keep up with all the information available to them – including library books! A Tiny Library helps bring librarian-selected resources to their attention.

    Connecting at an event builds relationships and increases opportunities for the library to develop more partnerships with your campus group in the future. We're a stronger community together!

How Do I Request a Tiny Library?

Follow the link below (you will need to log in with your Rowan ID) and complete the form. Please make sure to review all the information provided!

Other Important Information

  • To offer a Tiny Library, we will need you to provide 1-2 tables and at least 1 chair. The library representative will provide all other materials.
  • Please note including a book in a Tiny Library does not indicate endorsement of the book or its content.
  • We need at least five business days' notice before an event in order to guarantee a Tiny Library.
  • At very busy times of the semester, our capacity to provide a Tiny Library may be limited. We may have to suggest alternatives for a request.
  • We can also provide handouts with guidance to electronic library resources like e-books, videos, and articles, but this will usually need to be discussed in advance.
