Library Search at Rowan University Libraries

Economic Justice and Financial Literacy

This guide will direct you to library and online resources on economic justice and financial literacy.

Economic justice has been defined as “a set of moral principles for building economic institutions, the ultimate goal of which is to create an opportunity for each person to create a sufficient material foundation upon which to have a dignified, productive, and creative life beyond economics.” (https://www.bu.edu/sph/news/articles/2017/on-economic-justice/)

Financial literacy is "the possession of the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_literacy)

Without financial literacy skills, people are more vulnerable to unjust treatment by the economic system and more likely to lose out on the benefits they deserve.
