Some basic tools for beginning your research

ProfSearch is a user-friendly way to do quick searches of library holdings of books, media, and periodical articles, as well as items available beyond Rowan's library collections.  This search is designed to display a large number of found items which may then be narrowed down by checking the facet boxes on the left of the screen.

The Library Catalog is a more traditional online library catalog that finds only Rowan library holdings of books, media, and periodical titles.  Although the catalog does not display individual periodical articles, it does provide direct links to full-text of online journals to which the library holds subscriptions. 

Searching in the Library Catalog may be more accurate, in comparison to ProfSearch, in many cases, because the catalog makes more precise use of controlled language, such as subject headings and standardized name forms, along with related cross-references.
