History Research Guide: Welcome

Use this History subject guide to identify library and digital resources and to get research guidance (see navigation menu). Each page includes general research guidance and recommended resources. Librarian Andrea Baer is also available for research and instruction help, whether via email, phone, or web conference.

Starting Points

Simply want a quick overview of getting started with Library's resources? Here are some key starting points. (You can also find these on the Campbell Library homepage.)

  • Library Search: searches the Library's books and most of its databases. this is a good starting point for your research. (If you're  overwhelmed by the number of results or having trouble finding relevant results, try the other resources suggested below.)
  • More Research GuidesResearch Guides like this one include recommended resources and search tips for subject-specific research.
  • Database Finder: includes an alphabetical listing of all databases. You can also search for databases by subject or by database type (e.g., primary sources, government sources, news sources).
  • Get Help: As the History Subject Librarian, I (Andrea) can help via email, phone, or web conference. See my contact information on this page. You can also see the Ask A Librarian page for additional ways to get help.
