GenAI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) at Rowan

GenAI is rapidly changing workflows and workplace expectations. Our Learning Resources page provides ways to begin exploring the new technologies. As described on the IRT Website, you may only use Rowan data classified as public in free, open-source and personally-licensed AI tools and platforms. A few specific suggestions include:

• Zoom: You can take advantage of AI-powered features in Zoom to enhance your virtual meeting experience, including asking GenAI to catch you up on the meeting when you join late or have to step away, enable real-time captions, receive an AI-generated summary of your meeting via email after it ends, download full meeting transcripts and automatically generate meeting highlights from zoom recordings.
• Webex: You can use Webex Assistant to take notes during meetings, real-time transcription and closed captioning, rewrite your messages for tone, style and length, and generate summaries of conversations in group spaces. 
• Google Drive: You can use Notebook LM to analyze content on Google Drive so that you can ask questions, generate podcasts (great for auditory learners!) and summarize large documents.

Copilot (Microsoft): This AI-powered chat platform, built on GPT-4 and DALL-E 3 models, is available with commercial data protection. Staff data is not used to train the underlying language models. Explore at go.rowan.edu/copilot

Gemini (Google): This AI-powered chat platform integrates with Google Workspace and other Google products and is available with enterprise-grade data protection. Staff data is not used to train the underlying language models. Please note that there is currently no way to delete Gemini chats in Workspace accounts.
