You have several options when taking screenshots for Mac, in this tutorial we will show you how.

Take a screenshot of your entire screen

Take a screenshot of part of your screen

Take a screenshot for a particular window

  1. Press Cmd + Shift + 3 to take a screenshot of your entire screen, it will automatically be saved to the desktop. If you prefer to have your screenshot saved to your clipboard, press Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + 3.

  2. Press Cmd + Shift + 4, your cursor will change to a crosshair. Click and drag over the part you would like to capture. Once you are done, let go of the mouse button. Your screenshot will be automatically saved to the desktop. If you prefer to have your screenshot saved to your clipboard, press Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + 4.   3. Press Cmd + Shift + 4 + Space Bar, your cursor will change to a camera. Hover over a window of your choosing, and click. Your screenshot will be automatically saved to the desktop. If you prefer to have your screenshot saved to your clipboard, press Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + 4 + Space Bar.
